These cocoa and orange energy balls are gluten-free, sugar-free, made with wholesome ingredients in less than 20 minutes! And they’re yummy :- ) They are part of the suggested snacks of the 5-Day Detox I regularly run. They will satisfy a sweet craving without giving up real foods!

Cocoa & Orange Energy Balls

Ingredients:

  • 100 gr sultanas
  • 80 ml almond milk
  • 80g oat flakes
  • 40 gr hazelnuts
  • 20 gr mixed seeds
  • 30 gr cashew nuts
  • 2 TB maple syrup
  • 2 TB cocoa powder
  • zest of 1 orange
  • juice of ½ orange
  • Coating: 40g desiccated coconut

Directions:

  • Soak the sultanas in the almond milk.
  • Grate/grind the orange zest.
  • Blend the nuts and seeds in a blender until they have a breadcrumb consistency.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients except the desiccated coconut and blend. Add a bit more orange juice if the paste is still too thick. You should be able to mould it in your hands.
  • Once achieved the desired consistency, roll into balls and coat with the coconut.
